Final 2 days to pre-order tickets for Saturday's Cibernetico in Philly!
This Saturday, two teams of eight men each will meet in the main event of "Cibernetico & Robin" our first Saturday night event at the New Alhambra, and our fouth annual torneo cibernetico! Tickets will be available at the door, but if you want to pre-order tickets through our website, time is running out. We'll be accepting advance ticket orders until Friday night.
The torneo Cibernetico is an odd beast. Unlike other multiple man matches here at CHIKARA, the Cibernetico is governed by a few unique rules. For example, only one man can win the tournament; so should one team be eliminated, the opposing team will face off until just one man is left standing. Another is the batting order system, which means that the teams are restricted to tagging out in a specific order, which we have confirmed for you right here:

HEADLINES
~ Updated line-up for STATE OF SHOCK on October 6th
~ Rumors abound about November's Union Title Tournament
UPDATED LINE-UP INFORMATION FOR "STATE OF SHOCK"
The UNION of INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL WRESTLERS returns to Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday night October 6th for an event titled "STATE OF SHOCK". The Union roster will look to thrill and amaze the hometown faithful with another evening of UIPW excitement.
Owing to previous engagements, both STEVE CORINO and PEPPER PARKS have had to withdraw from the October 6th event. Both men promise to be back at Legion Hall #101 in November as they are the first two names to have been officially granted spots in the Union Heavyweight Title tournament.
With this news, the Union's Head of Fighters Affairs, AUSTIN SHAW, has announced the new main event for STATE OF SHOCK will see "The King of Iron City Hardcore" STERLING JAMES KEENAN go one-on-one with "The Havana Pitbull" RICKY REYES. These men are not strangers to one another. Reyes, the former Ring of Honor Tag Team champion, defeated Keenan one year ago today on his way to winning the IWC Heavyweight title in a tournament in Pittsburgh and would like to accomplish something similar in Toronto. Keenan wants to avenge that loss and solidify his place in November's tournament.
Then, in a no holds barred grudge match, the first-ever Union Heavyweight champion, "The Bastard Son of 1,000 Corpses" SEBASTIAN DARK takes on the last champion of the original Union, "Fabulous" JOHN McCHESNEY. Austin Shaw has put a spot in the November Heavyweight title tournament on the line in this match and both men want to prove that they are the past, present and future of the promotion.
Also announced, high-flying Northern Lights Division stand-out RIP IMPACT fights the debuting HENTAI. Impact is already proving himself to be one of the most popular workers in the Union and he hopes to continue his winning ways against the world-traveling cruiserweight veteran known as Hentai.
6'9", 300lb EDDIE VENOM returns to the Legion Hall on October 6th. After his complete destruction of THE ALL-KNIGHTERS at "BORN AGAIN", how will "The Motor City Monster" stack up against the wily veteran presence of REGGIE MARLEY? Jamaica's gift to professional wrestling will need to bring his "A-game" to fight Detroit's newest beast but with Union fans squarely on his side, Marley is eager for the challenge.
And speaking of the All-Knighters, the usually happy-go-lucky duo was anything but after getting their tickets punched by Eddie Venom. KEVIN GRACE and ROBIN KNIGHTWING have reportedly taken a "super-duper mega-binding lifetime pinky swear agreement" to never wrestle singles matches in the Union again. It's tag team matches or nothing for the All-Knighters and they'll get their chance to shine together at 'STATE OF SHOCK".
First up on their list? MATT BURNS and ASYLUM: the tag team known as THE FLATLINERS. How will the "all-night party people" fare against the size and muscle of Burns and Asylum? Join us on October 6th to find out!
The UNION of INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL WRESTLERS returns to Royal Canadian Legion Hall #101 in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday October 6th for "STATE OF SHOCK". Doors open at 630pm. Bell time is 7pm. The Legion Hall is located at 3850 Lake Shore Blvd West, midway between Dixie Road and Brown's Line and directly adjacent to both the Long Branch GO station and the TTC's Long Branch Loop.
Tickets are ON SALE NOW in person at the Legion Hall and online via the "UNION SHOP" at www.wrestlersunion.ca. The event is open to ALL AGES, but for those 19 and older, the Legion Hall includes a FULLY LICENSED BAR. Fans are reminded to bring valid ID and encouraged to use public transit if they plan to purchase alcohol.
THE UNION HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT IS COMING
As already mentioned, STEVE CORINO and PEPPER PARKS have already been assured their places in the Union Heavyweight title tournament being held November 3rd in Toronto. In addition, JOHN McCHESNEY and SEBASTIAN DARK will fight on October 6th for a place in the tournament. So with five more workers to be named to the tournament, the rumor mill is working overtime once again to guess the names of those fortunate few who will get a chance to become champion of the new Union.
STERLING JAMES KEENAN is an obvious choice and almost assuredly a shoe-in for a spot. His October 6th opponent, RICKY REYES, would certainly earn himself a berth win a victory of SJK. EDDIE OSBOURNE was apparently overheard bragging that he was already in the tournament, but AUSTIN SHAW has refused to confirm or deny this report. EDDIE VENOM has been spoken of very highly by Shaw on several occasions. Could the H. of F.A. be looking to add the "Motor City Monster" to the tournament mix? Where do men like REGGIE MARLEY and young sensation ETHAN PAGE stand in the title picture?
Austin Shaw has promised that fans will learn the full line-up for the tournament live and direct at October's STATE OF SHOCK event. Be there in person when the announcement is made!

6'9", 300lb EDDIE VENOM returns to the Legion Hall on October 6th. After his complete destruction of THE ALL-KNIGHTERS at "BORN AGAIN", how will "The Motor City Monster" stack up against the wily veteran presence of REGGIE MARLEY? Jamaica's gift to professional wrestling will need to bring his "A-game" to fight Detroit's newest beast but with Union fans squarely on his side, Marley is eager for the challenge.
And speaking of the All-Knighters, the usually happy-go-lucky duo was anything but after getting their tickets punched by Eddie Venom. KEVIN GRACE and ROBIN KNIGHTWING have reportedly taken a "super-duper mega-binding lifetime pinky swear agreement" to never wrestle singles matches in the Union again. It's tag team matches or nothing for the All-Knighters and they'll get their chance to shine together at 'STATE OF SHOCK".
First up on their list? MATT BURNS and ASYLUM: the tag team known as THE FLATLINERS. How will the "all-night party people" fare against the size and muscle of Burns and Asylum? Join us on October 6th to find out!
The UNION of INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL WRESTLERS returns to Royal Canadian Legion Hall #101 in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday October 6th for "STATE OF SHOCK". Doors open at 630pm. Bell time is 7pm. The Legion Hall is located at 3850 Lake Shore Blvd West, midway between Dixie Road and Brown's Line and directly adjacent to both the Long Branch GO station and the TTC's Long Branch Loop.
Tickets are ON SALE NOW in person at the Legion Hall and online via the "UNION SHOP" at www.wrestlersunion.ca. The event is open to ALL AGES, but for those 19 and older, the Legion Hall includes a FULLY LICENSED BAR. Fans are reminded to bring valid ID and encouraged to use public transit if they plan to purchase alcohol.
THE UNION HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT IS COMING
As already mentioned, STEVE CORINO and PEPPER PARKS have already been assured their places in the Union Heavyweight title tournament being held November 3rd in Toronto. In addition, JOHN McCHESNEY and SEBASTIAN DARK will fight on October 6th for a place in the tournament. So with five more workers to be named to the tournament, the rumor mill is working overtime once again to guess the names of those fortunate few who will get a chance to become champion of the new Union.
STERLING JAMES KEENAN is an obvious choice and almost assuredly a shoe-in for a spot. His October 6th opponent, RICKY REYES, would certainly earn himself a berth win a victory of SJK. EDDIE OSBOURNE was apparently overheard bragging that he was already in the tournament, but AUSTIN SHAW has refused to confirm or deny this report. EDDIE VENOM has been spoken of very highly by Shaw on several occasions. Could the H. of F.A. be looking to add the "Motor City Monster" to the tournament mix? Where do men like REGGIE MARLEY and young sensation ETHAN PAGE stand in the title picture?
Austin Shaw has promised that fans will learn the full line-up for the tournament live and direct at October's STATE OF SHOCK event. Be there in person when the announcement is made!

-Sometimes it just takes being with nice people to get your day rolling.
Marti and I had breakfast with Rocky Johnson and his wife Sheila at the Ocala, Hilton yesterday morning.
After attending "The Rock's" movie premier in Miami, Rocky and his wife Shelia were traveling up Interstate 75 through Ocala on the way to Missouri to visit their cotton farm as the harvest season is now here.
Coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, grits and gravy along with some fresh fruit went down as we talked about old school wrestling and three hours went by fast.
We have photos of Rocky Johnson from yesterday at the Hilton and of course "The Rock" himself on our website at www.dory-funk.com.
Yesterday evening, WWE's Dean Malenko was a special guest at the Funking Conservatory to watch our wrestlers perform. Wrestlers performing for Malenko included Johnny Magnum, Blain Rage, Cory Squires, Shane Chung, Vickii Von, "The Claw" Claudia Reiff, Kim Dakota, Flyin' Ryan Air Mitchell with Sandii Skye and Elvis Sharp.

» Last time in Sittingbourne it was the team of Iestyn Rees and Dave Sharp, both from Swindon’s 4FW, that were given the task of trying to inflict the first defeat on The Kartel since their return to IPW. After the match, the tension between the two men was high, with neither happy about the result.
In thinking about their matchmaking duties, therefore, The Hated Heroes have decided once again to bring both men back to Sittingbourne – but this time, AGAINST one another!

A Final August Announcement:
Friday Night will feature a Dinner, Q/A, Autograph Session and Photo Op with one of the most mysterious names in the business and an extremely rare public appearance by non other then....Eric Bischoff.
Mr Bischoff has agreed to attend the 2007 WrestleFanFest and will do so on Behalf of Children's Hospital. The entire apearance fee from Eric's appearance has been donated to Children's Hospital on Erics behalf.
Eric Bischoff will attend an exclusive 100 ticket ONLY dinner on Friday night where he will sign autographs, be available for photo ops and conduct a live Q/A with the guests in attendance. Tickets are just $50 which inlcudes, Dinner, (1) Autograph, (1) Photo Op and the Q/A.
Dinner starts at 6PM and will be held inside of the Cow Palace in the luxurious sky lounge that overlooks the entire arena.

CHIKARA
The epic Torneo Cibernetico comes to Philly on September 22!
Once a year we host a match unlike anything seen here in the United States. The Cibernetico is a 16-man elimination match, made up of 2 squads of 8 wrestlers each, and in the past, it's proven to be favorite of our fans and followers. This year, the Cibernetico is poised to pit the forces of the Kings of Wrestling against Lince Dorado and a team of luchadores, but most of the participants are a mystery at this point. At "Here Come the International Invaders: 2nd Stage," Mitch Ryder helped Shayne Hawke defeat Lince Dorado, and then, accepted the young Canadian onto his team.

» On July 29th in front of a super-fun loving Sittingbourne audience, IPW:UK made their debut at the Wyvern Hall. With an amazing 30-minute Iron Fist main event, local fans went away knowing of new wrestling heroes such as Martin Stone, The Kartel, Stixx and many many more.

The Hated Heroes Order Two More Matches Involving JC Thunder, Martin Stone & ‘Security’ Rus Rogers!
» IPW:UK Champion JC Thunder may have had the last laugh this weekend at Summer Sizzler, with “The Real Orpington Heroes” defeating “The Hated Heroes”, but come September 9th it is The Hated Heroes who are in charge.
As a result, and with the IPW:UK Title match under submissions rules coming up at the 3rd Anniversary Weekender, Hated Heroes leader Andy Boy Simmonz has booked JC Thunder in a 3-on-1 HANDICAP MATCH in the main event of “Summers Time”, on September the 9th.
After strong performances in Portsmouth and Orpington of late, Simmonz has recruited two members of “The Thrillers”, in Mark Haskins and Joey Redman to do his bidding for him. The third man in the bout? None other than fresh off of his first two wrestling matches, from Big Brother 8, Billi Lightning!
With the odds as ever stacked against our champ, can Thunder defeat the powerhouse duo and their new famous friend?
» In the second match made by the evening’s matchmakers, The Hated Heroes, we will see two close friends face off as ‘The Guvnor’ Martin Stone takes on ‘The Rock Hard Security Guard’ Rus Rogers.
As a way of punishing Rogers, and to the same extent challenging both he and Stone, The Heroes have set the two close friends against each other, in only Rogers’ third wrestling match, and only his second singles contest!
Don’t however, expect to see either men take it lightly on their opponents just because they are friends. For Stone, even with Rogers’ impressive strength, a loss would be a massive upset. For Rogers, a win could seal a spot on the permanent IPW:UK roster, his ultimate aim.
The Hated Heroes Book Themselves In Pro Wrestling NOAH Open-weight Tag Title Match!
» It was announced last week that Pro Wrestling NOAH duo, and current Open-weight tag champions, Kentaro Shiga and Kishin Kawabata are headed to Sittingbourne on September 9th as a part of their European tour. The two men, who have headlined so far for Premier Promotions, WAW and many more so far on their tour, mark the final pairing of talent being sent to the UK this year.
With The Hated Heroes now left available for other matches having found a suitable tag team to go against JC Thunder, they feel that since they are “the best tag team in IPW:UK”, that THEY personally should be the lucky ones who receive a shot at international tag gold.

Friday Night will feature a Dinner, Q/A, Autograph Session and Photo Op with one of the most mysterious names in the business and an extremely rare public appearance by non other then....Eric Bischoff.
Mr Bischoff has agreed to attend the 2007 WrestleFanFest and will do so on Behalf of Children's Hospital. The entire apearance fee from Eric's appearance has been donated to Children's Hospital on Erics behalf.
Eric Bischoff will attend an exclusive 100 ticket ONLY dinner on Friday night where he will sign autographs, be available for photo ops and conduct a live Q/A with the guests in attendance. Tickets are just $50 which inlcudes, Dinner, (1) Autograph, (1) Photo Op and the Q/A.

The epic Torneo Cibernetico comes to Philly on September 22!
Once a year we host a match unlike anything seen here in the United States. The Cibernetico is a 16-man elimination match, made up of 2 squads of 8 wrestlers each, and in the past, it's proven to be favorite of our fans and followers. This year, the Cibernetico is poised to pit the forces of the Kings of Wrestling against Lince Dorado and a team of luchadores, but most of the participants are a mystery at this point. At "Here Come the International Invaders: 2nd Stage," Mitch Ryder helped Shayne Hawke defeat Lince Dorado, and then, accepted the young Canadian onto his team.

Women's Wrestling Action Alicia vs. "Queen of Scream" Daffney
Long Island's favorite Jersey Girl, Alicia will be in action on August 25th. In order to give the fans quality women's wrestling, her opponent will be none other than former WCW star, "Queen of Scream" Daffney! Daffney will be making her return to VPW after acting as a special referee earlier this year in a match that also featured Alicia. Alicia and Daffney have mutual respect for each other and want to have match to see who's better. Both Alicia and Daffney are always looking for competitive quality opponents and now they have each other. Alicia has been a dominant female force in VPW. It looks like Daffney may end up being Alicia's toughest opponent yet!!
Cruiserweight Action "The Good Guy"Azrieal vs. Javi-Air
Two of VPW's hottest high-flyers are set to square off on August 25th. Javi-Air is looking to take it to the skies and get back on track after being defeated by Deranged at the last VPW event. The fans have always supported Javi-Air and this time will be no different as he takes on the "The Good Guy"Azrieal. Despite his moniker, there is nothing nice about Azrieal. Azrieal may be one of the top cruiserweights out there, but he is as dangerous as he is talented. Fresh off a huge win over the Grim Reefer, Azrieal will certainly make sure that he keeps himself on top of VPW. Can Javi-Air overcome his opponent? Or will Azrieal continue his hot streak? Both men have consistently been a part of some of the most intense matches in VPW and this one will surely be no different!!
Hair vs. Hair Match Johnny Suburban w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. DC Diamond w/ Jimmy Time
The war between Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond has been raging strong since September 2006. It was then that Johnny Suburban was brought in to VPW by his then-friend, DC Diamond, to watch his back. Little did DC Diamond know, Suburban had already been hired by the dastardly Jack O'Hearts and was secretly the newest member of The Crew. By the end of that night, Suburban had not only cost Diamond the match, but also brutally attacked him. From that point on, anytime Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond are anywhere in the same building, all hell has broken loose. Going back even further, DC Diamond has been battling Jack O'Hearts in one form or another since day one in VPW. Diamond and Suburban have only met in a singles match one time before and it was Johnny Suburban standing tall at the end of that battle. When they competed in a tag match earlier this year, it was DC Diamond who got the win. Unfortunately, his celebration was cut short and Diamond was once again brutally attacked. Back in June, while Johnny Suburban was celebrating a victory, DC Diamond and his manager Jimmy Time took the fight directly to Johnny Suburban. Now is the time for the score to be settled and it will happen on August 25th in a Hair vs. Hair Match. The loser of this match will not only lose this war, but he will also suffer the shame and embarrassment of having his head shaved in the middle of the ring. There is no way of anybody backing out of this one. Someone is leaving the building bald!!!
Tag Team Grudge Match Joe So Delicious and Sabotage w/ Jason Static vs. Mack Daddy Flexx and ???
This match was originally scheduled to also include Richie Tyler as Flexx's tag team partner, but unfortunately Tyler fractured his leg last month. Unless he is medically cleared to compete on August 25th, Mack Daddy Flexx may have to take on two of his rivals alone. VPW is looking into finding a replacement for Richie Tyler, but nothing is certain. Of course this situation makes Jason Static, Joe So Delicious and Sabotage very happy since they appear to have the clear advantage heading into the big event. The injured Jason Static has been nothing but trouble since he turned his back on the fans earlier this year. None of the participants in this match are strangers to each other and both sides are looking for some payback. At our last show, Mack Daddy Flexx defeated Joe Delicious in a singles match, but Delicious and Static then orchestrated a sneak attack after Flexx made his way back through the curtain. Flexx had some unexpected help from his trainer, WWE Hall of Famer, Johnny Rodz. Rodz didn't appreciate Joe So Delicious' behavior, especially since Delicious is also a student of Flexx. With so much riding on this match, anything can happen!!!
Special Rematch Scotty Rio vs. Major Intencity
Back in June, Scotty Rio was defeated by Major Intencity. Intencity was making his wrestling return after a lengthy hiatus. Both men were looking to secure a win here in the hopes of moving up the ladder in VPW. Unfortunately for Scotty Rio, he came up short. Following the match, Rio was complaining to anybody who would listen that he only lost the match because he injured himself training a few days earlier. He also claimed that Major Intencity got lucky and that it would never happen again. VPW officials have decided to give Scotty Rio one more chance at defeating Major Intencity on August 25th. Major Intencity has been training hard and is ready for his upcoming challenge. When asked for a comment, Intencity said the following, "Scotty Rio can make up all the excuses that he wants, but at the end of the day, he still lost. If he wants to step in the ring with me again, the same thing is going to happen." Find out on August 25th if Scotty Rio bit off more than he could chew or if Major Intencity will keep up his hot streak!!!
Tag Team Action Eclipse w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. JMS/ VSK
After being defeated and bloodied by the Dead Presidents back in June, Eclipse are looking to get back on to their winning ways. Both members of Eclipse seemed to feel that Jack O'Hearts was the cause of their huge loss, but all parties smoothed everything over since then and are refocused. Standing in Eclipse's path are the new team of JMS and VSK. JMS has tried a few different partners in the past, but has never been able to defeat the dominant Eclipse. His newest partner will be the debuting VSK. Not much is known about VSK, but it is known that JMS brought him in with the hopes of finally defeating Eclipse. When asked for a comment regarding this upcoming match, Jack O'Hearts had this to say, "JMS? VSK? I don't care how many letters of the alphabet show up in the ring because my main men, Eclipse, are gonna make alphabet soup out of those turkeys. You can take that to the bank and bank on it baby." Will Eclipse regain their momentum or will this new tandem prove to be the threat that puts Eclipse down?!!?!
Triple Threat Match Mr. Professional w/ Vinny the Guido vs. Nick Noshus vs. Chopsaw
Get ready for another exciting triple threat match in VPW!! It will be one fall to a finish in this exciting contest. First up is "Mr. Giggalo" Vinny the Guido's top charge, Mr. Professional. Mr. Professional is one angry individual and likes to make his opponents pay. When Professional made his debut, he brutalized JMS. Then back in June, he took on Johnny Suburban. Even though he was defeated, Professional took Suburban to the limit. Now Vinny the Guido has been telling everyone that Mr. Professional's path to glory begins on August 25th where he will defeat not one, but two other individuals. The next participant in this match is Nick Noshus. Noshus was successful in his VPW debut back in June and is looking to continue his winning ways. The VPW fans have no love lost for Noshus, as he berated them following his match. On the otherhand, the final participant in this match has always been a VPW fan-favorite, Chopsaw! After a brief absence, Chopsaw is set to make his return to action on August 25th. Time will tell if Chopsaw still has the fire inside of him that everyone is used to or if his time away will hinder his ability. Make sure to check out this wild encounter!!

The famous, or infamous, Zombie of ECW will be making a special visit to the VFW Hall in Centereach. VPW officials received a strange message on the office answering machine. Several people listened to it, but nobody could make heads or tails about what was going on. A special investigator was called in and eventually the message was deciphered to the following, "I am the ECW Zombie. I will be coming to VPW. All shall beware." It looks like VPW may need to call a certain group of paranormal investigators.
On October 12, 2007, VPW will be having a tournament to crown the first ever VPW Champion. Details on this tournament will be announced shortly.
Jason Static, who has been injured for the bulk of 2007, is gearing up for his in-ring return. Static told VPW the following when he was asked about his status, "Listen, if I feel like giving those no good Long Island fans a match that involves the best body in the business, then I will. If I just feel like accompanying my guys to the ring, then that's all you're going to get." As a result, VPW will not be scheduling an opponent for Jason Static.
If a match does end up occurring, VPW will find an opponent.
Due to Kevin Matthews brutal attack on Don Tony back in June where he cracked Don Tony in the head with a glass plate, coupled with his overall all behavior throughout the night, VPW has decided to indefinitely suspend Kevin Matthews. Originally, Grim Reefer was scheduled to take on Kevin Matthews in a rematch, but that will not happen at this time. Grim Reefer will still be in action on August 25, but his opponent has not yet been determined.
VPW will begin to run events more frequently. The following dates are the remaining schedule for this calendar year. Dates have also been scheduled for 2008. All events will be held at the VFW Hall in Centereach.

Good way to open the show, crowd was pretty into it. MVP worked the crowd well. D-Ray wins after alot of arguing.
Reck vs Hayden Avery
One of the best matches on the card. Crowd solidly behind hometown fav Hayden Avery. Reck was billed as being from anywhere but Woodstock. Indy Soldier came out about half way through. Caused a kerfluffel with Avery, Reck rolls him up, feet on the ropes ref doesn't see. Avery calls the both of them lovers, gets the fans to chant kiss at the new allied pair. Avery challenges Indy Soldier to a match Oct.19th in Woodstock for PWX with Robert Roode.
Michigan star Ricky Fontaine vs Kobra Kai
Fontaine comes out with a purple mirror. Kai was over with the woodstock crowd. Back and forth action. Crowd chants ugly Ricky, Kobra Kai victorious after a modified springboard moonsault into a pin.
At this point there is a big opening ceremonies procession for the Woodstock Fair, marching highland band. Tractors, speeches the regular routine.
Misty Haven vs International Womens Star and Former WWE Hardcore Champ BOBCAT
Misty comes out with her own foam finger, says Woodstock stinks, has worked 50 cities and 50 fairs this summer and this was the worst. Calls Bobcat a crossdresser, says Woodstock should be so lucky to have someone as good looking as herself in their town. Says the children are so ugly they trick-or-treat over the phone. Bobcat comes out, says Misty is permenmentaly in a Halloween costume, says she's gonna kick her ass. The two start brawling all over, they come up into the grandstand brawling everywhere even to the top. Come back down, work back to the ring Bobcat wins.
Frankie The Mobster vs Derek Wylde for the X-Title
Frankie says he can't believe he made the drive from Quebec to this shithole. Mocks "Dangerboy". Dangerboy comes out, good fan reaction. Mobster dominates most of the match, bitches Turnip around who reffed only this match. Wylde wins. One of the matches of the night.
Tyson Dux vs Former WWE and ECW star AL SNOW
Tyson Dux comes out says that Al Snow is scared and didn't come to Woodstock. He says he can't blame him and pleads with the crowd to do their laundry and take a shower. He will be taking poses in the ring. Al Snow makes his entrance with HEAD. Some fans were chanting ECW, crowd solidly behind Al Snow. Works the crowd with HEAD at the start, Dux demands that it leaves the ring. Dux works Snow's arm for the majority of the match. One of the best matches of the night based on solid in ring work. Snow turns the tide with some headlocks and alot of solid mat work. Ref almost gets crushed in the corner, Snow finally grabs HEAD, ref is disoriented, he smashes Dux, and pins.
Bobcat and Snow took lots of pics, and signed everyones swag. Snow talked to the HEAD during pics and autographs.

CHIKARA: Our 4th annual Cibernetico
comes to Philly on September 22!
Once a year we host a match unlike anything seen here in the United States. The Cibernetico is a 16-man elimination match, made up of 2 squads of 8 wrestlers each, and in the past, it's proven to be favorite of our fans and followers. This year, the Cibernetico is poised to pit the forces of the Kings of Wrestling against Lince Dorado and a team of luchadores, but most of the participants are a mystery at this point. At "Here Come the International Invaders: 2nd Stage," Mitch Ryder helped Shayne Hawke defeat Lince Dorado, and then, accepted the young Canadian onto his team.
So far, Hawke is the only confirmed wrestler apart from the respective team captains involved in the Cibernetico. Two official announcements will be part of our Sept. 6th online PPV (podcast-per-view thingy!), but until then, have a look at what's in store:

In order to give the fans quality women's wrestling, her opponent will be none other than former WCW star, "Queen of Scream" Daffney! Daffney will be making her return to VPW after acting as a special referee earlier this year in a match that also featured Alicia. Alicia and Daffney have mutual respect for each other and want to have match to see who's better. Both Alicia and Daffney are always looking for competitive quality opponents and now they have each other. Alicia has been a dominant female force in VPW. It looks like Daffney may end up being Alicia's toughest opponent yet!!
Cruiserweight Action "The Good Guy"Azrieal vs. Javi-Air
Two of VPW's hottest high-flyers are set to square off on August 25th. Javi-Air is looking to take it to the skies and get back on track after being defeated by Deranged at the last VPW event. The fans have always supported Javi-Air and this time will be no different as he takes on the "The Good Guy"Azrieal. Despite his moniker, there is nothing nice about Azrieal. Azrieal may be one of the top cruiserweights out there, but he is as dangerous as he is talented. Fresh off a huge win over the Grim Reefer, Azrieal will certainly make sure that he keeps himself on top of VPW. Can Javi-Air overcome his opponent? Or will Azrieal continue his hot streak? Both men have consistently been a part of some of the most intense matches in VPW and this one will surely be no different!!
Hair vs. Hair Match Johnny Suburban w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. DC Diamond w/ Jimmy Time
The war between Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond has been raging strong since September 2006. It was then that Johnny Suburban was brought in to VPW by his then-friend, DC Diamond, to watch his back. Little did DC Diamond know, Suburban had already been hired by the dastardly Jack O'Hearts and was secretly the newest member of The Crew. By the end of that night, Suburban had not only cost Diamond the match, but also brutally attacked him. From that point on, anytime Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond are anywhere in the same building, all hell has broken loose. Going back even further, DC Diamond has been battling Jack O'Hearts in one form or another since day one in VPW. Diamond and Suburban have only met in a singles match one time before and it was Johnny Suburban standing tall at the end of that battle. When they competed in a tag match earlier this year, it was DC Diamond who got the win. Unfortunately, his celebration was cut short and Diamond was once again brutally attacked. Back in June, while Johnny Suburban was celebrating a victory, DC Diamond and his manager Jimmy Time took the fight directly to Johnny Suburban. Now is the time for the score to be settled and it will happen on August 25th in a Hair vs. Hair Match. The loser of this match will not only lose this war, but he will also suffer the shame and embarrassment of having his head shaved in the middle of the ring. There is no way of anybody backing out of this one. Someone is leaving the building bald!!!

This match was originally scheduled to also include Richie Tyler as Flexx's tag team partner, but unfortunately Tyler fractured his leg last month. Unless he is medically cleared to compete on August 25th, Mack Daddy Flexx may have to take on two of his rivals alone. VPW is looking into finding a replacement for Richie Tyler, but nothing is certain. Of course this situation makes Jason Static, Joe So Delicious and Sabotage very happy since they appear to have the clear advantage heading into the big event. The injured Jason Static has been nothing but trouble since he turned his back on the fans earlier this year. None of the participants in this match are strangers to each other and both sides are looking for some payback. Good way to open the show, crowd was pretty into it. MVP worked the crowd well. D-Ray wins after alot of arguing.
Reck vs Hayden Avery
One of the best matches on the card. Crowd solidly behind hometown fav Hayden Avery. Reck was billed as being from anywhere but Woodstock. Indy Soldier came out about half way through. Caused a kerfluffel with Avery, Reck rolls him up, feet on the ropes ref doesn't see. Avery calls the both of them lovers, gets the fans to chant kiss at the new allied pair. Avery challenges Indy Soldier to a match Oct.19th in Woodstock for PWX with Robert Roode.
Michigan star Ricky Fontaine vs Kobra Kai
Fontaine comes out with a purple mirror. Kai was over with the woodstock crowd. Back and forth action. Crowd chants ugly Ricky, Kobra Kai victorious after a modified springboard moonsault into a pin.
At this point there is a big opening ceremonies procession for the Woodstock Fair, marching highland band. Tractors, speeches the regular routine.
Misty Haven vs International Womens Star and Former WWE Hardcore Champ BOBCAT
Misty comes out with her own foam finger, says Woodstock stinks, has worked 50 cities and 50 fairs this summer and this was the worst. Calls Bobcat a crossdresser, says Woodstock should be so lucky to have someone as good looking as herself in their town. Says the children are so ugly they trick-or-treat over the phone. Bobcat comes out, says Misty is permenmentaly in a Halloween costume, says she's gonna kick her ass. The two start brawling all over, they come up into the grandstand brawling everywhere even to the top. Come back down, work back to the ring Bobcat wins.
Frankie The Mobster vs Derek Wylde for the X-Title
Frankie says he can't believe he made the drive from Quebec to this shithole. Mocks "Dangerboy". Dangerboy comes out, good fan reaction. Mobster dominates most of the match, bitches Turnip around who reffed only this match. Wylde wins. One of the matches of the night.
Tyson Dux vs Former WWE and ECW star AL SNOW
Tyson Dux comes out says that Al Snow is scared and didn't come to Woodstock. He says he can't blame him and pleads with the crowd to do their laundry and take a shower. He will be taking poses in the ring. Al Snow makes his entrance with HEAD. Some fans were chanting ECW, crowd solidly behind Al Snow. Works the crowd with HEAD at the start, Dux demands that it leaves the ring. Dux works Snow's arm for the majority of the match. One of the best matches of the night based on solid in ring work. Snow turns the tide with some headlocks and alot of solid mat work. Ref almost gets crushed in the corner, Snow finally grabs HEAD, ref is disoriented, he smashes Dux, and pins.
Bobcat and Snow took lots of pics, and signed everyones swag. Snow talked to the HEAD during pics and autographs.

SAMOA JOE ANSWERS LAX'S CHALLENGE
It was announced this past Saturday that SST/LAX of Homicide & Hernandez has challenged Samoa Joe and a partner of Joe's choice to a JAPW Tag Team Title match. The reason behind the challenge was because according to LAX, LAX wants to make the JAPW Tag Team Championships the most sought out and respected tag team titles in all of professional wrestling. Samoa Joe, a former TNA World Tag Team Champion himself, accepted the challenge and told JAPW.net that he has picked.
JAPW Heavyweight Champion LOW KI as his partner!!!
JAPW officials are shocked about Joe choosing Low Ki as his partner. Calls to Low Ki were unreturned, but Low Ki did send a message to JAPW.net confirming that he has accepted Joe's offer to take on LAX for the JAPW Tag Team Championships!

Obviously there are so many questions going into this match. What is the status of SST/LAX? What does this mean for the SST? Why would Low Ki accept the offer of a man he's gone to battle against in JAPW many times? What is going through Low Ki's long time friend & trainer, Homicide's head? This match is a huge match of epic proportions which could change the face of JAPW for time to come. JAPW.net will have more on this explosive match in a future update.
While the JAPW Heavyweight Championship won't be on the line at "Calm Before The Storm", the JAPW NJ State Championship will be defended.
On September 8, 2007 Grim Reefer will have his toughest challenge yet, defending in a four-way match against B -Boy, Jay Lethal & Azraiel!
There's so much history between these four competitors in JAPW. Grim Reefer, who's defended the belt against all comers since defeating Frankie Kazarian earlier this year, will take on several wrestlers who's he never defeated before in JAPW rings. Will Reefer be able to come up strong in these "high-times" during his championship reign, or will he burnt? It remains to be seen on 09/08.
The three challengers in this match are no strangers to the JAPW NJ State Championship or for Championship Gold for that matter! Jay Lethal is a triple crown champion in JAPW. Azraiel held the JAPW NJ State Championship several times and also has tag gold on his resume. "The New Age Punisher" B-Boy, also a former tag team champion, was an undefeated JAPW NJ State Champion. In fact, B-Boy never lost his belt and this is his first rematch for the championship since being stripped of the belt in 2005, which Azraiel ironically won!
This match has many different stories heading into it. Jay Lethal & Azraiel, who made the JAPW NJ State Championship one of the most prestigious belts in all of wrestling in 2004-2005, recently put everything aside and teamed up, and won the JAPW Tag Championships. Lethal & Azraiel are owed a JAPW Tag Team Title rematch, but what should happen if one of them were to win this match? Will Lethal & Azraiel be on the same page? Where are these stars mentally? We might be on the verge of seeing one of the hottest feuds in JAPW history revisited once again!
B-Boy has made a name for himself since returning to JAPW rings earlier this year. B-Boy, perhaps the forgotten about member in SST, looks to stand out as his own person by winning more gold for SST. With all the JAPW gold besides the JAPW NJ State Championship in SST's hands, B-Boy looks to bring the missing belt back into the SST fold. Hero, a technical wizard and one of the hottest commodities in wrestling has made it clear that he plans on adding the JAPW Heavyweight Championship to his impressive trophy collection. Kazarian plans on roadblocking that goal as Kazarian is hungry and wants to be the top dog in JAPW. Both of these wrestlers were considered as number 1 contenders to Low Ki's JAPW Heavyweight Championship before Low Ki accepted Joe's offer to team with him against LAX. This match will definitely have JAPW Heavyweight Title ramifications and we'll find out on 09/08 who stands tall.

Johnny D. is easily the most accomplished manager in JAPW, as he has guided many JAPW wrestlers to all sorts of championship gold. Perhaps Johny D is looking to mold another championship wrestler, based on his recent actions.
JAPW.net has found out that Johnny D. was in JAPW offices rummaging through several wrestler contracts. Furthermore, Johnny D. was seen entering several JAPW wrestlers phone numbers in his Sidekick. This has sparked rumors that Johnny D. is looking to rebuild what once was the biggest stable in all of JAPW, The D-Factor. With Rhino losing the JAPW Championship and no longer around every event, in addition to a career threatening injury to his latest protege Kevin Matthews, perhaps Johnny D. is looking to bulk up his gang.
As of right now, Johnny D. only has Alicia under contract. However is Alicia more than enough for Johnny D.? Alicia & Johnny D. easily handled EC Negro on 07/21, but what would happen to The D-Factor if La Familia decided to retaliate? There are several members of the JAPW roster who could use the tutlege and wisdom of Johnny D and maybe there are several marriages in the making for the D-Factor. Time will tell the future for the D-Factor.

Archadia, one of JAPW's hottest stars since his debut in late 2004, has come to a career crossroads in JAPW. After establishing himself as the real thing in JAPW, Archadia has come up short time and time again in his quest to become the JAPW NJ Champion. Archadia recently co-won the Ultimate Rumble with Azraiel, but once again came up short in his pursuit for JAPW gold, as JAPW Heavyweight Champion Low Ki was able to thwart Archadia's attempt at JAPW gold.
Archadia is a wrestler on a beaten path, and is a poster boy for Robert Frost's famous poem about a road with two paths to choose from. What will Archadia do in JAPW? Will he look for acceptance in one of the major stables in JAPW? Will he continue to go down the straight path? It is no secret that Archadia is fuming mad that Azraiel, who co-won the Ultimate Rumble with Archadia is in the JAPW NJ State Championship match and Archadia is not. Women's Wrestling Action
Alicia vs. "Queen of Scream" Daffney
Long Island's favorite Jersey Girl, Alicia will be in action on August 25th.
In order to give the fans quality women's wrestling, her opponent will be
none other than former WCW star, "Queen of Scream" Daffney! Daffney will be
making her return to VPW after acting as a special referee earlier this year
in a match that also featured Alicia. Alicia and Daffney have mutual
respect for each other and want to have match to see who's better. Both
Alicia and Daffney are always looking for competitive quality opponents and
now they have each other. Alicia has been a dominant female force in VPW.
It looks like Daffney may end up being Alicia's toughest opponent yet!!
Cruiserweight Action
"The Good Guy"Azrieal vs. Javi-Air
Two of VPW's hottest high-flyers are set to square off on August 25th.
Javi-Air is looking to take it to the skies and get back on track after
being defeated by Deranged at the last VPW event. The fans have always
supported Javi-Air and this time will be no different as he takes on the
"The Good Guy"Azrieal. Despite his moniker, there is nothing nice about
Azrieal. Azrieal may be one of the top cruiserweights out there, but he is
as dangerous as he is talented. Fresh off a huge win over the Grim Reefer,
Azrieal will certainly make sure that he keeps himself on top of VPW. Can
Javi-Air overcome his opponent? Or will Azrieal continue his hot streak?
Both men have consistently been a part of some of the most intense matches
in VPW and this one will surely be no different!!
Hair vs. Hair Match
Johnny Suburban w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. DC Diamond w/ Jimmy Time
The war between Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond has been raging strong since
September 2006. It was then that Johnny Suburban was brought in to VPW by
his then-friend, DC Diamond, to watch his back. Little did DC Diamond know,
Suburban had already been hired by the dastardly Jack O'Hearts and was
secretly the newest member of The Crew. By the end of that night, Suburban
had not only cost Diamond the match, but also brutally attacked him. From
that point on, anytime Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond are anywhere in the
same building, all hell has broken loose. Going back even further, DC
Diamond has been battling Jack O'Hearts in one form or another since day one
in VPW. Diamond and Suburban have only met in a singles match one time
before and it was Johnny Suburban standing tall at the end of that battle.
When they competed in a tag match earlier this year, it was DC Diamond who
got the win. Unfortunately, his celebration was cut short and Diamond was
once again brutally attacked. Back in June, while Johnny Suburban was
celebrating a victory, DC Diamond and his manager Jimmy Time took the fight
directly to Johnny Suburban. Now is the time for the score to be settled
and it will happen on August 25th in a Hair vs. Hair Match. The loser of
this match will not only lose this war, but he will also suffer the shame
and embarrassment of having his head shaved in the middle of the ring.
There is no way of anybody backing out of this one. Someone is leaving the
building bald!!!
Tag Team Grudge Match
Joe So Delicious and Sabotage w/ Jason Static vs. Mack Daddy Flexx and ???
This match was originally scheduled to also include Richie Tyler as Flexx's
tag team partner, but unfortunately Tyler fractured his leg last month.
Unless he is medically cleared to compete on August 25th, Mack Daddy Flexx
may have to take on two of his rivals alone. VPW is looking into finding a
replacement for Richie Tyler, but nothing is certain. Of course this
situation makes Jason Static, Joe So Delicious and Sabotage very happy since
they appear to have the clear advantage heading into the big event. The
injured Jason Static has been nothing but trouble since he turned his back
on the fans earlier this year. None of the participants in this match are
strangers to each other and both sides are looking for some payback. At our
last show, Mack Daddy Flexx defeated Joe Delicious in a singles match, but
Delicious and Static then orchestrated a sneak attack after Flexx made his
way back through the curtain. Flexx had some unexpected help from his
trainer, WWE Hall of Famer, Johnny Rodz. Rodz didn't appreciate Joe So
Delicious' behavior, especially since Delicious is also a student of Flexx.
With so much riding on this match, anything can happen!!!
Special Rematch
Scotty Rio vs. Major Intencity
Back in June, Scotty Rio was defeated by Major Intencity. Intencity was
making his wrestling return after a lengthy hiatus. Both men were looking
to secure a win here in the hopes of moving up the ladder in VPW.
Unfortunately for Scotty Rio, he came up short. Following the match, Rio
was complaining to anybody who would listen that he only lost the match
because he injured himself training a few days earlier. He also claimed
that Major Intencity got lucky and that it would never happen again. VPW
officials have decided to give Scotty Rio one more chance at defeating Major
Intencity on August 25th. Major Intencity has been training hard and is
ready for his upcoming challenge. When asked for a comment, Intencity said
the following, "Scotty Rio can make up all the excuses that he wants, but at
the end of the day, he still lost. If he wants to step in the ring with me
again, the same thing is going to happen." Find out on August 25th if
Scotty Rio bit off more than he could chew or if Major Intencity will keep
up his hot streak!!!
Tag Team Action
Eclipse w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. JMS/ VSK
After being defeated and bloodied by the Dead Presidents back in June,
Eclipse are looking to get back on to their winning ways. Both members of
Eclipse seemed to feel that Jack O'Hearts was the cause of their huge loss,
but all parties smoothed everything over since then and are refocused.
Standing in Eclipse's path are the new team of JMS and VSK. JMS has tried a
few different partners in the past, but has never been able to defeat the
dominant Eclipse. His newest partner will be the debuting VSK. Not much is
known about VSK, but it is known that JMS brought him in with the hopes of
finally defeating Eclipse. When asked for a comment regarding this upcoming
match, Jack O'Hearts had this to say, "JMS? VSK? I don't care how many
letters of the alphabet show up in the ring because my main men, Eclipse,
are gonna make alphabet soup out of those turkeys. You can take that to the
bank and bank on it baby." Will Eclipse regain their momentum or will this
new tandem prove to be the threat that puts Eclipse down?!!?!
Triple Threat Match
Mr. Professional w/ Vinny the Guido vs. Nick Noshus vs. Chopsaw
Get ready for another exciting triple threat match in VPW!! It will be one
fall to a finish in this exciting contest. First up is "Mr. Giggalo" Vinny
the Guido's top charge, Mr. Professional. Mr. Professional is one angry
individual and likes to make his opponents pay. When Professional made his
debut, he brutalized JMS. Then back in June, he took on Johnny Suburban.
Even though he was defeated, Professional took Suburban to the limit. Now
Vinny the Guido has been telling everyone that Mr. Professional's path to
glory begins on August 25th where he will defeat not one, but two other
individuals. The next participant in this match is Nick Noshus. Noshus was
successful in his VPW debut back in June and is looking to continue his
winning ways. The VPW fans have no love lost for Noshus, as he berated them
following his match. On the otherhand, the final participant in this match
has always been a VPW fan-favorite, Chopsaw! After a brief absence, Chopsaw
is set to make his return to action on August 25th. Time will tell if
Chopsaw still has the fire inside of him that everyone is used to or if his
time away will hinder his ability. Make sure to check out this wild
encounter!!
Other VPW News:
The famous, or infamous, Zombie of ECW will be making a special visit to the
VFW Hall in Centereach. VPW officials received a strange message on the
office answering machine. Several people listened to it, but nobody could
make heads or tails about what was going on. A special investigator was
called in and eventually the message was deciphered to the following, "I am
the ECW Zombie. I will be coming to VPW. All shall beware." It looks like
VPW may need to call a certain group of paranormal investigators.
On October 12, 2007, VPW will be having a tournament to crown the first ever
VPW Champion. Details on this tournament will be announced shortly.
Jason Static, who has been injured for the bulk of 2007, is gearing up for
his in-ring return. Static told VPW the following when he was asked about
his status, "Listen, if I feel like giving those no good Long Island fans a
match that involves the best body in the business, then I will. If I just
feel like accompanying my guys to the ring, then that's all you're going to
get." As a result, VPW will not be scheduling an opponent for Jason Static.
If a match does end up occurring, VPW will find an opponent.
Due to Kevin Matthews brutal attack on Don Tony back in June where he
cracked Don Tony in the head with a glass plate, coupled with his overall
all behavior throughout the night, VPW has decided to indefinitely suspend

Long Island's favorite Jersey Girl, Alicia will be in action on August 25th.
In order to give the fans quality women's wrestling, her opponent will be
none other than former WCW star, "Queen of Scream" Daffney! Daffney will be
making her return to VPW after acting as a special referee earlier this year
in a match that also featured Alicia. Alicia and Daffney have mutual
respect for each other and want to have match to see who's better. Both
Alicia and Daffney are always looking for competitive quality opponents and
now they have each other. Alicia has been a dominant female force in VPW.
It looks like Daffney may end up being Alicia's toughest opponent yet!!
Cruiserweight Action
"The Good Guy"Azrieal vs. Javi-Air
Two of VPW's hottest high-flyers are set to square off on August 25th.
Javi-Air is looking to take it to the skies and get back on track after
being defeated by Deranged at the last VPW event. The fans have always
supported Javi-Air and this time will be no different as he takes on the
"The Good Guy"Azrieal. Despite his moniker, there is nothing nice about
Azrieal. Azrieal may be one of the top cruiserweights out there, but he is
as dangerous as he is talented. Fresh off a huge win over the Grim Reefer,
Azrieal will certainly make sure that he keeps himself on top of VPW. Can
Javi-Air overcome his opponent? Or will Azrieal continue his hot streak?
Both men have consistently been a part of some of the most intense matches
in VPW and this one will surely be no different!!
Hair vs. Hair Match
Johnny Suburban w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. DC Diamond w/ Jimmy Time
The war between Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond has been raging strong since
September 2006. It was then that Johnny Suburban was brought in to VPW by
his then-friend, DC Diamond, to watch his back. Little did DC Diamond know,
Suburban had already been hired by the dastardly Jack O'Hearts and was
secretly the newest member of The Crew. By the end of that night, Suburban
had not only cost Diamond the match, but also brutally attacked him. From
that point on, anytime Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond are anywhere in the
same building, all hell has broken loose. Going back even further, DC
Diamond has been battling Jack O'Hearts in one form or another since day one
in VPW. Diamond and Suburban have only met in a singles match one time
before and it was Johnny Suburban standing tall at the end of that battle.
When they competed in a tag match earlier this year, it was DC Diamond who
got the win. Unfortunately, his celebration was cut short and Diamond was
once again brutally attacked. Back in June, while Johnny Suburban was
celebrating a victory, DC Diamond and his manager Jimmy Time took the fight
directly to Johnny Suburban. Now is the time for the score to be settled
and it will happen on August 25th in a Hair vs. Hair Match. The loser of
this match will not only lose this war, but he will also suffer the shame
and embarrassment of having his head shaved in the middle of the ring.
There is no way of anybody backing out of this one. Someone is leaving the
building bald!!!
Tag Team Grudge Match
Joe So Delicious and Sabotage w/ Jason Static vs. Mack Daddy Flexx and ???
This match was originally scheduled to also include Richie Tyler as Flexx's
tag team partner, but unfortunately Tyler fractured his leg last month.
Unless he is medically cleared to compete on August 25th, Mack Daddy Flexx
may have to take on two of his rivals alone. VPW is looking into finding a
replacement for Richie Tyler, but nothing is certain. Of course this
situation makes Jason Static, Joe So Delicious and Sabotage very happy since
they appear to have the clear advantage heading into the big event. The
injured Jason Static has been nothing but trouble since he turned his back
on the fans earlier this year. None of the participants in this match are
strangers to each other and both sides are looking for some payback. At our
last show, Mack Daddy Flexx defeated Joe Delicious in a singles match, but
Delicious and Static then orchestrated a sneak attack after Flexx made his
way back through the curtain. Flexx had some unexpected help from his
trainer, WWE Hall of Famer, Johnny Rodz. Rodz didn't appreciate Joe So
Delicious' behavior, especially since Delicious is also a student of Flexx.
With so much riding on this match, anything can happen!!!
Special Rematch
Scotty Rio vs. Major Intencity
Back in June, Scotty Rio was defeated by Major Intencity. Intencity was
making his wrestling return after a lengthy hiatus. Both men were looking
to secure a win here in the hopes of moving up the ladder in VPW.
Unfortunately for Scotty Rio, he came up short. Following the match, Rio
was complaining to anybody who would listen that he only lost the match
because he injured himself training a few days earlier. He also claimed
that Major Intencity got lucky and that it would never happen again. VPW
officials have decided to give Scotty Rio one more chance at defeating Major
Intencity on August 25th. Major Intencity has been training hard and is
ready for his upcoming challenge. When asked for a comment, Intencity said
the following, "Scotty Rio can make up all the excuses that he wants, but at
the end of the day, he still lost. If he wants to step in the ring with me
again, the same thing is going to happen." Find out on August 25th if
Scotty Rio bit off more than he could chew or if Major Intencity will keep
up his hot streak!!!
Tag Team Action
Eclipse w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. JMS/ VSK
After being defeated and bloodied by the Dead Presidents back in June,
Eclipse are looking to get back on to their winning ways. Both members of
Eclipse seemed to feel that Jack O'Hearts was the cause of their huge loss,
but all parties smoothed everything over since then and are refocused.
Standing in Eclipse's path are the new team of JMS and VSK. JMS has tried a
few different partners in the past, but has never been able to defeat the
dominant Eclipse. His newest partner will be the debuting VSK. Not much is
known about VSK, but it is known that JMS brought him in with the hopes of
finally defeating Eclipse. When asked for a comment regarding this upcoming
match, Jack O'Hearts had this to say, "JMS? VSK? I don't care how many
letters of the alphabet show up in the ring because my main men, Eclipse,
are gonna make alphabet soup out of those turkeys. You can take that to the
bank and bank on it baby." Will Eclipse regain their momentum or will this
new tandem prove to be the threat that puts Eclipse down?!!?!
Triple Threat Match
Mr. Professional w/ Vinny the Guido vs. Nick Noshus vs. Chopsaw
Get ready for another exciting triple threat match in VPW!! It will be one
fall to a finish in this exciting contest. First up is "Mr. Giggalo" Vinny
the Guido's top charge, Mr. Professional. Mr. Professional is one angry
individual and likes to make his opponents pay. When Professional made his
debut, he brutalized JMS. Then back in June, he took on Johnny Suburban.
Even though he was defeated, Professional took Suburban to the limit. Now
Vinny the Guido has been telling everyone that Mr. Professional's path to
glory begins on August 25th where he will defeat not one, but two other
individuals. The next participant in this match is Nick Noshus. Noshus was
successful in his VPW debut back in June and is looking to continue his
winning ways. The VPW fans have no love lost for Noshus, as he berated them
following his match. On the otherhand, the final participant in this match
has always been a VPW fan-favorite, Chopsaw! After a brief absence, Chopsaw
is set to make his return to action on August 25th. Time will tell if
Chopsaw still has the fire inside of him that everyone is used to or if his
time away will hinder his ability. Make sure to check out this wild
encounter!!
Other VPW News:
The famous, or infamous, Zombie of ECW will be making a special visit to the
VFW Hall in Centereach. VPW officials received a strange message on the
office answering machine. Several people listened to it, but nobody could
make heads or tails about what was going on. A special investigator was
called in and eventually the message was deciphered to the following, "I am
the ECW Zombie. I will be coming to VPW. All shall beware." It looks like
VPW may need to call a certain group of paranormal investigators.
On October 12, 2007, VPW will be having a tournament to crown the first ever
VPW Champion. Details on this tournament will be announced shortly.
Jason Static, who has been injured for the bulk of 2007, is gearing up for
his in-ring return. Static told VPW the following when he was asked about
his status, "Listen, if I feel like giving those no good Long Island fans a
match that involves the best body in the business, then I will. If I just
feel like accompanying my guys to the ring, then that's all you're going to
get." As a result, VPW will not be scheduling an opponent for Jason Static.
If a match does end up occurring, VPW will find an opponent.
Due to Kevin Matthews brutal attack on Don Tony back in June where he
cracked Don Tony in the head with a glass plate, coupled with his overall
all behavior throughout the night, VPW has decided to indefinitely suspend
Kevin Matthews. Originally, Grim Reefer was scheduled to take on Kevin
Matthews in a rematch, but that will not happen at this time. Grim Reefer
will still be in action on August 25, but his opponent has not yet been
determined.

(WEST PATERSON, NJ)- Independent Wrestling Federation is pleased to announce that WWE Developmental Talent Trainer Dr. Tom Prichard of Florida Championship Wrestling returns to conduct a WWE Seminar, Clinic and Tryout at IWF Wrestling School, 32 Willow Way, West Paterson, NJ.
Prichard, a former WWE Tag Team Champion with The Heavenly Bodies and The Bodydonnas, hosts the three-day clinic on Friday, August 17 from 6:30 to 10:30 pm, Saturday, August 18 from 12 to 5 pm, and Sunday, August 19 from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Day one and two include a seminar, in-ring drills, basics and fundamentals. Day three includes a videotape study, promos and evaluation.
This is a must for all wrestlers and students to have an opportunity to get scouted and coached by Prichard in this three-day clinic. This marks the 10th clinic Tom will host at IWF Wrestling School since 2002.
As we look ahead to the upcoming Clinic, here is an interview with Tom Prichard as we probe his role as a trainer and coach, and seek knowledge about what it takes to make it as a successful professional wrestler...
IWF: First, tell us about the early stages of your wrestling career and about your training?
TOM: I am a lifelong wrestling fan and have watched my whole life. From the time I was 4 years old I knew I wanted to be a professional wrestler. I started watching on TV in El Paso, TX and there were great workers like The Funks, Harley Race, The Infernos, The Von Brauners, Nick and Jerry Kozak, Grizzly Smith, Rickey Romero, Gory Guerrero, El Santo and many other top names who I didn't know at the time were top names pretty much everywhere they went. Or, they were being groomed for a top spot. West Texas was run by the Funk family and they were very smart in how they did business. When I was 10, we moved to Houston and got acquainted with a whole new crew of wrestlers; Wahoo McDaniel, Johnny Valentine, The Spoiler, Gary Hart, The Great Malenko, Fritz Von Erich, Jose Lothario, and Dory Funk Jr. just won the NWA World championship before we moved so he was now a touring champion, going from territory to territory so I was able to still see some of my favorites from West Texas. Paul Boesch was the promoter and we were able to go to the matches every Friday night at the Sam Houston Coliseum in the 70's. I made it a point to be around the entrance the guys arrived at in the coliseum and would try to talk to some while other times I just watched. I finally introduced myself to Paul and told him I wanted to wrestle. Of course at 11 years old I was told there’s no way but I was persistent and never gave up. From the time I was 10 up until I was 20 years old I was at the matches every week and in between those years I managed to work in the Houston office during summers, referee, second and set up rings. I was a gofer and did anything I could to be a part of the business. I never gave up my hopes and dreams. There wasn't a lot of encouragement to go around either but I wasn't going to let that stop me.
IWF: During your wrestling training, who was most instrumental in your development and what were some of the most important tips and advice you received?
TOM: The most influential person in my early training and development was my karate instructor, Bill Gray. About the same time we moved to Houston, my brother and I took karate classes and that’s where I met Bill. Bill brought a speaker to class one night who said, “There are 3 kinds of people in the world: Those who ‘try’. They'll never make it because when they don't they say “Well, at least I tried.” Those who ‘give it their best shot’. They'll never make it because when they don't they say “Well, at least I gave it my best shot.” Then there’s that third kind of person who says ‘Whatever It Takes.’ There is no denying these people because they will not stop until they accomplish their goal. There is no ‘try’ or ‘best shot.’ I thought that was the most profound thing I ever heard. What’s possible is done, what’s impossible will be done. How true! I was told I was too small, couldn't wrestle, didn't have ‘it’, blah, blah, blah. I knew what I wanted to do and while I wasn't sure exactly how I would get there I was going to get there! I took a lot of risks and made a lot of mistakes but that’s life. I just couldn't see myself doing anything else. Paul Boesch letting me work in the office and train with The Iron Sheik on Friday afternoons in an empty coliseum was a big help as well. Paul was a great influence and inspiration to me too.
IWF: How long did it take you to "get it" and were there any defining moments that stand out when you truly understood what performing and the business were all about?
TOM: The rule of thumb when I had my first match (1979) was you had to be working for at least 5 years before you would be allowed to call a spot or anything in the match. Back then you were put with a veteran every night and you listened to him. That’s how you really learn this business is on the job training and experienced veterans pass down their knowledge. I think I finally ‘got it’ when I turned heel in Louisiana. Then I was able to try things and try my hand at calling a match. It was right around my 5 year mark after working 5-7 nights a week for 5 years! It’s next to impossible to fathom that today. There’s just no where to go and do something like that. Going to the Pensacola/Alabama territory really gave me the freedom to try my hand at some ideas and get comfortable about who I was as a performer. But then again, going to WWE it was like starting all over again! The great thing about this business is it’s constantly changing. And the bad thing about this business is it’s constantly changing!
IWF: In 1996, you began a new career as a trainer and coach for WWE. It is well known you had a hand in preparing The Rock, Kurt Angle and Ken Shamrock among others for their careers What were the qualities and attributes that separated those that made it to the big dance from those who didn't make it?
TOM: The biggest qualities these guys all have is they are students of the game. They kept looking for improvement and new ways to do things. It wasn't “just doing moves for the sake of doing moves.” In the case of Rock and Angle they both became extremely entertaining on the mic and in the ring. Shamrock had a lot of talent as well. They all had the “Whatever It Takes” attitude!
IWF: Kevin Knight opened IWF Wrestling School in 1999 because there weren't any quality schools in the area. His role was also that of a student as he began brining in countless stars and legends to conduct clinics. In addition to yourself, WWE's Steven Richards, WWE's Nunzio, WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Honky Tonk Man, WWE legend Ricky Steamboat, former UFC and WWE Champion Ken Shamrock, former WWE Diva Dawn Marie, former WWE star Tom Brandi, former ECW Champion Steve Corino, and TNA's Simon Diamond have hosted clinics. How valuable are these sessions for trainees?
TOM: The hardest part starting out today is finding a reputable school and coach who knows what he’s doing. To be able to hear it from the people who have “been there, done that” is immeasurable. IWF: Kevin Knight formulated his coaching style for IWF Wrestling School by combining all the valuable knowledge gained during these superstar clinics. Who was influential in helping you to develop your coaching style?
TOM: Once again, Bill Gray. His method of teaching kept things fun, interesting and informative. I actually learned and wanted to learn more. You must have a passion to learn the business but I also feel a good coach must have a passion for coaching. A good coach must also be willing to change and adapt as things change.
IWF: You conducted many clinics throughout the country, including developing a relationship with IWF Wrestling School in 2002. Since that time, 16 different IWF graduates performed with WWE. Now, there are thousands of independent wrestlers in the country. What qualities and attributes separate an ordinary "independent" wrestler from a first-class "professional" wrestler?
TOM: Attitude. Too many guys think it’s all about how many moonsaults or huracanranas they can do. Stone Cold Steve Austin has NEVER done a moonsault! Less is more! The real pros understand it is about quality, NOT quantity. This is a business and it should be enjoyed. The object is not to kick each other as hard as you can. It’s to give the impression you are beating the hell out of each other! Pros understand this. Indie/Outlaws don't!
IWF: Yourself, Honky Tonk Man and Tito Santana among others, have been credited for the success of IWF Wrestling School as a result of your roles as guest instructors. The common theme is basics, fundamentals and storytelling. To some young wrestlers, this seems boring when compared to stunts, dives and barbed wire. Any idiot can do a stunt, a dive or fall into barbed wire, but it takes a skilled professional athlete to master the basics and tell a logical story. Why are these the most important elements for a wrestler to learn?
TOM: We can teach moves. We can't teach charisma or passion. How much talent does it take to do 15 huracarranas, 12 moonsaults, go thru 20 tables and still get up and do a flying dive off the cage? I'm sure it takes something but the object again, is to tell a story and entertain people. The Rock will still get more of a reaction by raising his eyebrow than some 165 pound guy stapling a dollar to his tongue.
IWF: Today, with the short attention span of society in general and instant gratification expected, many trainees and young wrestlers expect to make it to WWE after just a few months or few years of training. What are some things that young wrestlers need to keep in mind during the early years of their career?
TOM: Worry about having a solid foundation before worrying about “getting my tattoo on my trunks and ring jacket!” Without knowing the BASICS and having a solid foundation you will go nowhere fast! Ask veterans who have been where you want to be for advice! Become a student of the game and live this business 24/7. Don't live your gimmick…live and understand the demands and sacrifices required of this business.
IWF: With almost 30 years of experience as a wrestler, trainer and coach, you have seen countless wrestlers come and go. What are the keys to longevity and a prosperous wrestling career?
TOM: Attitude. Understanding ones strengths and weaknesses. Learn everything you can about everything connected to the business. It won't last forever. Are you thought of or capable enough to pass down what you learned? Longevity means WORKING SMART! That doesn't mean be lazy, it means work smart so you don't get a serious injury and aren't able to make a living any more.

(WEST PATERSON, NJ)- Independent Wrestling Federation is pleased to announce that WWE Developmental Talent Trainer Dr. Tom Prichard of Florida Championship Wrestling returns to conduct a WWE Seminar, Clinic and Tryout at IWF Wrestling School, 32 Willow Way, West Paterson, NJ.
Prichard, a former WWE Tag Team Champion with The Heavenly Bodies and The Bodydonnas, hosts the three-day clinic on Friday, August 17 from 6:30 to 10:30 pm, Saturday, August 18 from 12 to 5 pm, and Sunday, August 19 from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Day one and two include a seminar, in-ring drills, basics and fundamentals. Day three includes a videotape study, promos and evaluation.
This is a must for all wrestlers and students to have an opportunity to get scouted and coached by Prichard in this three-day clinic. This marks the 10th clinic Tom will host at IWF Wrestling School since 2002.
As we look ahead to the upcoming Clinic, here is an interview with Tom Prichard as we probe his role as a trainer and coach, and seek knowledge about what it takes to make it as a successful professional wrestler...
IWF: First, tell us about the early stages of your wrestling career and about your training?
TOM: I am a lifelong wrestling fan and have watched my whole life. From the time I was 4 years old I knew I wanted to be a professional wrestler. I started watching on TV in El Paso, TX and there were great workers like The Funks, Harley Race, The Infernos, The Von Brauners, Nick and Jerry Kozak, Grizzly Smith, Rickey Romero, Gory Guerrero, El Santo and many other top names who I didn't know at the time were top names pretty much everywhere they went. Or, they were being groomed for a top spot. West Texas was run by the Funk family and they were very smart in how they did business. When I was 10, we moved to Houston and got acquainted with a whole new crew of wrestlers; Wahoo McDaniel, Johnny Valentine, The Spoiler, Gary Hart, The Great Malenko, Fritz Von Erich, Jose Lothario, and Dory Funk Jr. just won the NWA World championship before we moved so he was now a touring champion, going from territory to territory so I was able to still see some of my favorites from West Texas. Paul Boesch was the promoter and we were able to go to the matches every Friday night at the Sam Houston Coliseum in the 70's. I made it a point to be around the entrance the guys arrived at in the coliseum and would try to talk to some while other times I just watched. I finally introduced myself to Paul and told him I wanted to wrestle. Of course at 11 years old I was told there’s no way but I was persistent and never gave up. From the time I was 10 up until I was 20 years old I was at the matches every week and in between those years I managed to work in the Houston office during summers, referee, second and set up rings. I was a gofer and did anything I could to be a part of the business. I never gave up my hopes and dreams. There wasn't a lot of encouragement to go around either but I wasn't going to let that stop me.
IWF: During your wrestling training, who was most instrumental in your development and what were some of the most important tips and advice you received?
TOM: The most influential person in my early training and development was my karate instructor, Bill Gray. About the same time we moved to Houston, my brother and I took karate classes and that’s where I met Bill.
