NYWC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Angus Brothers vs Maverick & Plazma (c)

In one of the night’s featured matches, Maverick & Plazma will defend their newly won titles against the very duo they defeated to claim the belts in the first place. The Angus Brothers, who were the second team eliminated in last month’s title match, will have first crack at a rematch, and will no doubt be a tremendous challenge for the new champs. Danny and Billy have made remarkable strides as a tag team, and their alliance with Prince Charles, Mega, Francois Lynn and Ahmad Akbar only makes them that much more formidable. With the Foreign Legion at ringside and the Angus Brothers thirsting for revenge, can Maverick & Plazma possibly will themselves to victory once again?

NYWC HI-FI CHAMPIONSHIP
Alex Reynolds vs Javi-Air (c)

The NYWC HI-FI Championship will be on the line, when Javi-Air takes on first-time HI-FI challenger and collar-poppin’ sensation, “Yours Truly” Alex Reynolds. Javi has proven time and time again that he is the real deal in the HI-FI division, and the odds seem to be in his favor against the rookie Reynolds. The X factor, of course, is Dan Barry, Reynolds’ tag team partner, who will no doubt make his presence known at ringside. Javi-Air will have to pull out all the stops if he hopes to retain his belt, and with Reynolds seeking the spotlight and Barry shifting the scales, this might prove to be a much tougher challenge than expected!

SINGLES MATCH
Benny Martinez vs Dan Barry
Though nobody would be surprised to see Dan Barry at ringside during the HI-FI title match, he is also scheduled for sanctioned in-ring action against another HI-FI contender, the up-and-coming Benny Martinez. Since his tag team partnership with Bruno Marciano dissolved, Benny has been making his mark in the singles arena, and what better way to prove yourself than by taking on a seasoned NYWC veteran? But Dan Barry has seen it all in the NYWC, from submission bouts to the Psycho Circus, so if Martinez hopes to take him down, he will need to bring his “A” game for sure!

SINGLES MATCH
Tony Burma vs Bruno Marciano

“Big Time” Tony Burma, fresh off his victory over former tag team partner Mike Spinelli, will be in action as he takes on Bruno Marciano one-on-one. Now that he has pledged his allegiance to “Mr. Entertainment” Vitko and his cohorts, Burma is primed to take a shot at gold once again, but his road must first go through Marciano. But Bruno is no mere bump in Burma’s path… he is vying for contender status himself, and he hopes to bring Big Time’s train to a grinding halt!

*Additional matches to be announced. Card subject to change.*

IWC World Heavyweight Title Match:
Dennis Gregory defends against “Sweet N Sour” Larry Sweeney
While Dennis Gregory was in the ring on the mic this past Saturday at Summer Sizzler 4, he ran down several members of the IWC roster, including then-Super Indy Champion “Sweet N Sour” Larry Sweeney. A little later in the night, during Sweeney’s title defense against “Fabulous” John McChesney, Sweeney was attacked on the floor by Gregory. The IWC Champion ran Sweeney’s face into the ring post, busting him open behind the ref’s back. Gregory climbed in the ring and apparently “sealed the deal” with the newest member of Gregory’s Unholy Alliance, John McChesney. McChesney later went on to win the title, much to the delight of Gregory. While Sweeney got his shot at McChesney on July 21st in a baseball bat match, he still wants a crack at Denny Gregory for busting him open, which later led to his downfall in the match. So IWC offficials have decided to sign “Sweet N Sour” Larry Sweeney in a grudge match with Dennis Gregory for August 18th in Newville, PA, and it’s for the IWC World Heavyweight Title!

“The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe vs. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles
Two IWC and TNA favorites will be meeting for the first time in IWC in 2 years. “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe took on “The Baddest Man in IWC” Raymond Rowe this Saturday night in the most anticipated match of 2007, and came out on top the victor. But on August 18th, he’ll be taking on his old rival, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles. These men have met many times outside of IWC, including memorable matches in TNA, including the finals of the 2005 Super X Cup, which Joe also won. The credentials of either man read a mile long. Joe has 3 X-Division titles, the longest ROH World title reign ever, was the first man to win both ROH World and Pure titles, was the longest reigning UPW Heavyweight Champion, and much much more. Styles has 4 X-Division titles, 2 IWC Super Indy titles, 3 NWA World Heavyweight Titles, 3 NWA Tag Team Titles, and much much more. They meet one more time inside the IWC ring, this time at Newville Knockout 3 on August 18th, 2007. Big Spring Community Center will have to strengthen the foundations as this match might just blow the roof off!

IWC Tag Team Title Match:
The Gambino Brothers defend against The Cleveland Mafia, Johnny Gargano & Michael Facade, and Jason Gory & Justin Idol
As you may have seen in the backstage segment on IWCwrestling.com featuring Ray Rowe, J-Rocc, and Samoa Joe, Raymond Rowe wants to get gold back into the Cleveland Mafia. While J-Rocc wants him to go after the IWC World Heavyweight Title, Rowe has his sights focused on the IWC Tag Team Titles once again. He has gone to IWC officials and requested a shot at the tag team titles, so on August 18th at Newville Knockout, they will get the chance. Jason Gory and Shiima Xion, collectively known as BabyFace Fire, were set to receive an IWC Tag Team Title shot at Newville Knockout 3 on August 18th. That is, until Shiima Xion had a bottle smashed over his head by Marshall Gambino. Shiima was in the hospital, having small shards of glass removed from his face, and doctors gave him four weeks until he could return to the ring. IWC officials, not wanting to cancel the three-way dance for Newville, inserted former champs Michael “The Bomber” Facade & Johnny Gargano into the match with Tag champs, The Gambino Brothers, and The Cleveland Mafia. Gargano & Facade defeated The Mafia at the tail end of a Tag Title Gauntlet back at Super Indy VI to win the belts, right after the Mafia pinned the Gambinos to eliminate them. Then, two months later at Summer Sizzler 4, the Gambinos won the belts back from Facade & Gargano. It made sense to insert them into this match, giving them the rematch for the belts, plus giving J-Rocc & Ray Rowe a chance to avenge their loss to the new tandem from Super Indy VI. But now, not wanting to pass up his shot at regaining the belts, Jason Gory has gone to IWC officials, asking to be put into the match again. Gory wanted revenge for what the Gambinos did to his partner, and he would go to any length he could. That’s where “The Aerial Icon” Justin Idol comes in. Idol, a good friend of Xion & Gory, offered Gory his services in the match, making it a four-way dance! Idol & Gory have teamed up with success in the tri-state area before, winning tag gold for several companies. Call them BabyFace Harassment, call them Sexual Fire. Whatever you call them, they’re now getting a shot at the IWC Tag Team Titles in Newville!

Rematch from Ellsworth Basebrawl 2007:
“Balls Hot” Troy Lords vs. “The Havana Pitbull” Ricky Reyes
This will be the fourth match between these two men. They first met in the Super Indy V tournament semi-finals, where Lords won out with a brainbuster. Then, at Throwdown / Stay Down this past April, then-IWC Champion Reyes met then-Super Indy Champion Lords in the first ever meeting of the two singles champions in IWC history. Reyes came out on top with his dragon sleeper submission. On July 21st at Ellsworth Basebrawl 2007, Reyes and Lords met onc emore, both men needing a victory after losing their belts and subsequent matches at Summer Sizzler 4 against Dennis Gregory and Azrieal, respectively. Reyes dropped Lords on his head with a sickening Cradle Breaker, and scored the victory. As Lords got revenge on Azrieal for his loss at Summer Sizzler 4, he now wants to avenge his other loss in July, this time against Reyes one more time. Ellsworth saw what these two had, now it’s time for Newville to brace itself for Reyes vs. Lords: Round 4!

Grudge Match:
HENTAI vs. “The Shooter” Brent Albright
At No Excuses 3, HENTAI was ousted from the “New Unholy Alliance” as the group dropped the name, and HENTAI, altogether. He was obviously questioning the union from the start. At Summer Sizzler 4, as the group came together, HENTAI was stand-offish and even denied a show of goodwill from Steven Colter as Colter held the ropes open for HENTAI. Then, at Ellsworth Basebrawl 2007, HENTAI declined to choose a member of the Alliance as his tag partner, instead going with an associate of his old friend Delirious, Daizee Haze. At No Excuses 3, HENTAI told the new Alliance that he felt uncomfortable in this position, and he felt that there was no Unholy Alliance without Shirley Doe and HENTAI. Dennis Gregory, taking exception to the comment, said “If you’re not with us, you’re just like the Unholy Alliance… you’re dead!” And with that, the group turned their back on the original member, HENTAI. Sebastian Dark delivered a one-man con-chair-to to HENTAI’s arm, injuring it. Later in the night, as Brent Albright’s opponent, Jon Bolen, was nowhere to be seen, HENTAI stepped up and took on “The Shooter”. It was a valiant effort by the first ever Super Indy Champion, but Albright targeted his injured arm, and finished him off with the Crowbar armbar submission. Now, with his arm two-weeks healthy, HENTAI wants a rematch with Albright in Newville, PA! IWC officials were glad to sign the grudge match, and now it’s on for Newville Knockout 3!

“DeeeeLicious” Jimmy DeMarco vs. Newville’s own Ian Jordan
IWCwrestling.com received late-breaking news that one half of the Hollywood Balds and a member of The Family, “DeeeeLicious” Jimmy DeMarco, has demanded a match for Newville Knockout 3 this Saturday night. Furious that the Balds were the only regular IWC tag team not included on the card at Big Spring Area Community Center, DeMarco demanded a match against anybody Newville had to offer. As luck would have it, IWC Promoter Norm Connors was talking with a young upstart from the Newville area about competing on his first-ever IWC live event. Ian Jordan just made his professional wrestling debut for Buckeye Pro Wrestling in Ohio this past May. A product of Shark Boy’s wrestling school, he has recently competed for Pro Wrestling Entertainment in Pennsylvania, making his debut against one-half of Chikara’s Campeones de Parejas, Icarus. Since this youngster was looking for a shot at wrestling for IWC, and DeMarco was demanding a match, IWC Promoter Norm Connors signed it! It will be Jimmy DeMarco vs. Ian Jordan this Saturday night in Newville!

PLUS
WWE Legend THE PATRIOT will return to IWC at Newville!

And, all the fun and surprises you’ve come to expect from IWC!!!

AWF WRESTLING

“ALL PUMPED UP & READY TO GO!”

@ CARDIFF PANTHERS

FRIDAY 24 AUGUST, 2007

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its return to Cardiff Panthers and is “All Pumped Up and Ready To Go!” for Friday 24th August with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and international visitors.

The AWF will deliver 2 1/2 hours of action packed sports entertainment suitable for all ages in a huge card that will showcase a variety of different matches, fighting styles and characters.

The Cardiff line up will showcase all AWF Championships being defended, and special feature bouts, to make the event a massive 8 bout super card.

The AWF Australasian Championship will be on the line, when Sydney’s TNT, defends his title against New Zealand’s premier pro-wrestler, Mana “The Polynesian Warrior”.

TNT has been on an undefeated streak, defeating the world’s best as AWF Australasian Champion. On 8 July at Cardiff Panther’s he impressively defeated Japan’s Ryo Saito, and announced that he would defeat New Zealand’s Mana, proving he truly is the best wrestler in Australasia.

Mana has been in the USA wrestling the likes of Sabu and Tommy Dreamer, and will make his AWF debut in Cardiff. Mana is known for his tribal face paint, war dance and hardcore wrestling style, and has earned an AWF Championship shot due to his tremendous track record.

Both men’s impressive recent form, experience and world travelled credentials shall make this an exciting and heart pounding title bout.

In the other singles title bout on the card, Powerhouse Theo will defend his Young Lion’s Championship against Newcastle area’s very own, “Dr Waxhead” Adam Hoffman.

Hoffman won the chance to face Theo at the July 8 Cardiff event when he defeated 3 other under 25 year old contender’s to gain the title shot.

Theo has been facing all that the Young Lion’s division can throw at him, taking on all comers, and defeating them soundly.

The Hoffman versus Theo clash could come down to hometown support in the end. If the enthusiastic Cardiff crowd can get behind Hoffman enough, they may just see their first home town AWF Champion.

Another huge under card is planned for Cardiff, which will feature intriguing and exciting match ups such as a The Tag Team Championship’s being defended with “The Platinum Players” Kid Dynamite & JT Robinson taking on Chris X & Massive Q. Three way contenders bout will see Harry Hardshaw, Steve Ravenous & Taipan go at it in a heavyweight showdown. Returning from Canada, Jason Helton will battle the AWF enforcement of Jay Law. Party goer Scotty Club will face off with unpopular clown, Il Cognito. There will also be a three way match featuring Bluey Bonza, Rob The Scientist & Zander Bathory, plus rounding out the card will see singles action pitting “Raging” Nick Ferno against newcomer, the punk like tiger, Mike Vandall.

“AWF All Pumped up & Ready to Go!” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Cardiff Panthers.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as recent AWF events have been turn away sell outs. Tickets on sale now at the club.

ALL PUMPED UP & READY TO GO

@ BLACKTOWN RSL

SAT 25 AUGUST, 2007

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its return to Blacktown RSL Club and is “All Pumped Up and Ready To Go!” for Saturday 25 August with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and international visitors.

The third event at Blacktown for the 2007 will showcase all AWF Championships being defended, and special feature bouts, to make the event a massive 7 bout super card.

The AWF Australasian Championship will be on the line, when Sydney’s TNT, defends his title against, “The Butcher of Beirut”, Lebanon’s Lebo Ceda.

Ceda has been undefeated for months in the AWF, cheating and defeating all comers. At Penrith on 6 July, Ceda downed Massive Q to become number 1 contender for the AWF Championship.

TNT has also been on an undefeated streak, defeating the world’s best, and recently returned from a successful tour of Japan.

Both men’s form will make this a very evenly fought bout. Ceda will definitely have the size advantage, TNT the experience advantage. It will no doubt make for an exciting and unpredictable bout.

In another main event “Platinum Player” Steve Ravenous of Blacktown will face the challenge of New Zealand’s premier pro-wrestler, Mana “The Polynesian Warrior”.

Ravenous has been wrestling the best in the AWF and leading his gang of thugs, “The Platinum Players” to victory across Australia.

Mana has been in the USA wrestling the likes of Sabu and Tommy Dreamer, and will make his Sydney debut at Blacktown. Mana is known for his crazy anything goes style of wrestling, and will excite fans with his tribal face paint, war dance and hardcore wrestling style.

This will be a hard hitting bout between two heavyweights looking to gain future Championship shots.

Another huge under card is planned which will feature intriguing and exciting match ups such as a 4 Way Contender’s Bout pitting Jay Law, Mark Hilton, Il Cognito & Billy Flyswat against each other. The Young Lion’s Championship bout will see Powerhouse Theo defend against the lethal Toxin. The Tag Team Championship’s will be on the line also with “The Platinum Players” Kid Dynamite & JT Robinson defending against “The Surf Club” Adam Hoffman & Scotty Club. There will also be a three way “Australian Rules” match featuring Bluey Bonza, The Captain & Jimmy Daniels, plus singles action pitting the muscular Taipan against newcomer, the punk like tiger, Mike Vandall.

- Slex was all riled up after his Young Lion’s loss to Powerhouse Theo, and will take time off for a world trip that will include USA and Europe.

- Lee Starr returned to wrestling after a stint honoing his craft with Lance Storm in Canada. He was unsuccessful in his bid at the AWF Title against TNT.

- Il Cognito’s 3 way victory put him back in the winners circle and rankings contention.

- In the TNT Vs Tanaka bout, after an evenly fought AWF Australasian Title match, both men were down, allowing Steve Corino to enter and interfere using a chain on both men causing the no contest. Billy Kidman stormed the ring and made the save for TNT & Tanaka, wielding a chair.

River City Wrestling Show Cancelled

Source: http://www.pwbts.com

Earlier today, River City Wrestling conversed with Tiffany's Billiards, and it was decided to cancel the Saturday, August 18 event due to flooding and rain in San Antonio.

RCW's main concern are those driving in from out of town. Although chances of rain have lowered, due to Tiffany's being an outside venue, it would be better to cancel the event in advance and let those wrestlers from out of town know. First, the weather is definitely a safety concern for those driving in, and it would be a terrible situation if the guys from Dallas, Houston, Louisiana drove all the way to San Antonio and the show was rained out.

RCW would like to apologize to the fans for this cancellation. For those who ordered tickets through PayPal, you have the option of:
1) receiving a full refund or
2) your ticket orders will be valid for the next RCW date.

All you need to do is send an email to rcwprez@rivercitywrestling.net or call (210) 842-8398.

RCW will announce its upcoming dates shortly.
Sincerely,
Brandon Oliver
Owner of River City Wrestling

Peter Staniforth sent this in:

Another rowdy and enthusiastic Luton crowd, saw Power Trip Wrestling stand tall and put on a show in the face of adversity. The days prior the show had seen no less than thirteen wrestlers pull out due to injury and/or transport issues and parts of the card be forced into last minute change, but PTW Owner Peter Staniforth was in his usual confident mood and was insistent the show would go on and would live up to PTW's reputation. Here's the results and main happenings from the show.

* Peter came out to start the show, and announced that as a thank you to the fans, he would make the 'Cruiserweight Chaos' match for the vacant PTW Cruiserweight Title, as his son Andrew brought the title belt to the ring. As Peter's daughter Victoria brought what will apparently be the PTW Heavyweight Title to be introduced in the future, to the ring, an amped up and angry as hell Stixx stormed to the ring and scared her; and also threatened Peter physically. Shabazz came out to make the save, to cheers, and said he would announce his cornerman...."who has ALL the power"...later on.

* The Red Haired Loon defeated 'The Angel Of The North' Kyle Kraze. This was a fun match, which saw Red Haired Loon taking the victory with the feared Claw!

* G 'The Ghetto Superstar' became the first ever PTW Cruiserweight Champion, defeating Matt Naylor, Danny Stevens, Dan Ryder, Nico Brixton, and Hubert in the 'Cruiserweight Chaos' match. After the match, G's celebration was cut short by a bitter Dan Ryder, who turned against his friend and left him laying in the ring.

* 'Mean & Green' Anton Green & Maverick defeated Leon X & Jim Brooks. After the match, Peter Staniforth got into the ring and told Jim Brooks plainly that it was "decision time....you're either going to be a team player...or you're fired from PTW".

* Rich N' Famous defeated El Ligero, in a slight shock. Ligero was, as ever, adored by the crowd, but Rich N' Famous took the win and his stock is sure to rise even higher as a result.

* Andy Simmonz defeated Spatch. Andy was very popular with the crowd, and PTW would like to thank him, and will be bringing him back when his schedule allows.

* Gangster & Hubert defeated 'Youth Gone Wild' Will Davison & Ant Lacayo. Despite the efforts of Davison & Lacayo, and they did put up a good fight; Gangster & Hubert came away with the win as Gangster continues in his quest to get under the skin of the PTW Owner.

* 'Mr 50-50' Dan Evans defeated Martin Kirby. A definite contender for match of the night.

* Sykes, Cameron Kraze, Dan Edge, & Jay Cool defeated Frantastic, 'Scorpion' Bill Duffy, Rolling Aikeda, and Mason Storm; in the eight man tag team match.

* Brian Braddock defeated American All-Star w/ Miss Vicky. Braddock was his typical self in this one, as the man that PTW fans respect heavily for the fact that somehow - no matter how much he's beaten down and hurt - he always somehow manages to win.

*In the main event, Stixx brought out Jim Brooks to be in his corner, who had seemingly made his choice. Shabazz brought out Peter Staniforth, and in one of the best matches in PTW history - a HUGE shock occured. After a back and forth, hard hitting battle with near falls and even the referee getting hurt; Jim Brooks stole Peter's infamous steel 'Clipboard of Doom' and when everyone assumed he'd be aiming for Shabazz - he hit Stixx. Staniforth stood there shocked, and Shabazz hit a diamond cutter and took the victory. Peter then got into the ring, called Brooks up there, and asked the question everyone wanted to know - "Did you do that on purpose or by accident?" Brooks informed Peter that "if you didn't notice, there's some legal papers in the back, from an estate agent....because I'm moving to Luton!". The crowd cheered, and welcomed Jim Brooks to Luton, and Peter thanked him; welcoming him to the 'family'. The two hugged, and raised Shabazz's hand victorious on what can only be described as another loud evening in PTW history that won't ever be forgotten!

Chopsaw, Mr. Professional, "Mr. Giggalo" Vinny the Guido, Johnny Suburban,
Jimmy Time, Nick Noshus, VSK & Jerry Fitzwater

Plus much more to be announced!!!

Matches Scheduled:

Women's Wrestling Action
Alicia vs. "Queen of Scream" Daffney

Long Island's favorite Jersey Girl, Alicia will be in action on August 25th.
In order to give the fans quality women's wrestling, her opponent will be
none other than former WCW star, "Queen of Scream" Daffney! Daffney will be
making her return to VPW after acting as a special referee earlier this year
in a match that also featured Alicia. Alicia and Daffney have mutual
respect for each other and want to have match to see who's better. Both
Alicia and Daffney are always looking for competitive quality opponents and
now they have each other. Alicia has been a dominant female force in VPW.
It looks like Daffney may end up being Alicia's toughest opponent yet!!

Cruiserweight Action
"The Good Guy"Azrieal vs. Javi-Air

Two of VPW's hottest high-flyers are set to square off on August 25th.
Javi-Air is looking to take it to the skies and get back on track after
being defeated by Deranged at the last VPW event. The fans have always
supported Javi-Air and this time will be no different as he takes on the
"The Good Guy"Azrieal. Despite his moniker, there is nothing nice about
Azrieal. Azrieal may be one of the top cruiserweights out there, but he is
as dangerous as he is talented. Fresh off a huge win over the Grim Reefer,
Azrieal will certainly make sure that he keeps himself on top of VPW. Can
Javi-Air overcome his opponent? Or will Azrieal continue his hot streak?
Both men have consistently been a part of some of the most intense matches
in VPW and this one will surely be no different!!

Hair vs. Hair Match
Johnny Suburban w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. DC Diamond w/ Jimmy Time

The war between Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond has been raging strong since
September 2006. It was then that Johnny Suburban was brought in to VPW by
his then-friend, DC Diamond, to watch his back. Little did DC Diamond know,
Suburban had already been hired by the dastardly Jack O'Hearts and was
secretly the newest member of The Crew. By the end of that night, Suburban
had not only cost Diamond the match, but also brutally attacked him. From
that point on, anytime Johnny Suburban and DC Diamond are anywhere in the
same building, all hell has broken loose. Going back even further, DC
Diamond has been battling Jack O'Hearts in one form or another since day one
in VPW. Diamond and Suburban have only met in a singles match one time
before and it was Johnny Suburban standing tall at the end of that battle.
When they competed in a tag match earlier this year, it was DC Diamond who
got the win. Unfortunately, his celebration was cut short and Diamond was
once again brutally attacked. Back in June, while Johnny Suburban was
celebrating a victory, DC Diamond and his manager Jimmy Time took the fight
directly to Johnny Suburban. Now is the time for the score to be settled
and it will happen on August 25th in a Hair vs. Hair Match. The loser of
this match will not only lose this war, but he will also suffer the shame
and embarrassment of having his head shaved in the middle of the ring.
There is no way of anybody backing out of this one. Someone is leaving the
building bald!!!

Tag Team Grudge Match
Joe So Delicious and Sabotage w/ Jason Static vs. Mack Daddy Flexx and ???

This match was originally scheduled to also include Richie Tyler as Flexx's
tag team partner, but unfortunately Tyler fractured his leg last month.
Unless he is medically cleared to compete on August 25th, Mack Daddy Flexx
may have to take on two of his rivals alone. VPW is looking into finding a
replacement for Richie Tyler, but nothing is certain. Of course this
situation makes Jason Static, Joe So Delicious and Sabotage very happy since
they appear to have the clear advantage heading into the big event. The
injured Jason Static has been nothing but trouble since he turned his back
on the fans earlier this year. None of the participants in this match are
strangers to each other and both sides are looking for some payback. At our
last show, Mack Daddy Flexx defeated Joe Delicious in a singles match, but
Delicious and Static then orchestrated a sneak attack after Flexx made his
way back through the curtain. Flexx had some unexpected help from his
trainer, WWE Hall of Famer, Johnny Rodz. Rodz didn't appreciate Joe So
Delicious' behavior, especially since Delicious is also a student of Flexx.
With so much riding on this match, anything can happen!!!

Special Rematch
Scotty Rio vs. Major Intencity

Back in June, Scotty Rio was defeated by Major Intencity. Intencity was
making his wrestling return after a lengthy hiatus. Both men were looking
to secure a win here in the hopes of moving up the ladder in VPW.
Unfortunately for Scotty Rio, he came up short. Following the match, Rio
was complaining to anybody who would listen that he only lost the match
because he injured himself training a few days earlier. He also claimed
that Major Intencity got lucky and that it would never happen again. VPW
officials have decided to give Scotty Rio one more chance at defeating Major
Intencity on August 25th. Major Intencity has been training hard and is
ready for his upcoming challenge. When asked for a comment, Intencity said
the following, "Scotty Rio can make up all the excuses that he wants, but at
the end of the day, he still lost. If he wants to step in the ring with me
again, the same thing is going to happen." Find out on August 25th if
Scotty Rio bit off more than he could chew or if Major Intencity will keep
up his hot streak!!!

Tag Team Action
Eclipse w/ Jack O'Hearts vs. JMS/ VSK

After being defeated and bloodied by the Dead Presidents back in June,
Eclipse are looking to get back on to their winning ways. Both members of
Eclipse seemed to feel that Jack O'Hearts was the cause of their huge loss,
but all parties smoothed everything over since then and are refocused.
Standing in Eclipse's path are the new team of JMS and VSK. JMS has tried a
few different partners in the past, but has never been able to defeat the
dominant Eclipse. His newest partner will be the debuting VSK. Not much is
known about VSK, but it is known that JMS brought him in with the hopes of
finally defeating Eclipse. When asked for a comment regarding this upcoming
match, Jack O'Hearts had this to say, "JMS? VSK? I don't care how many
letters of the alphabet show up in the ring because my main men, Eclipse,
are gonna make alphabet soup out of those turkeys. You can take that to the
bank and bank on it baby." Will Eclipse regain their momentum or will this
new tandem prove to be the threat that puts Eclipse down?!!?!

Triple Threat Match
Mr. Professional w/ Vinny the Guido vs. Nick Noshus vs. Chopsaw

Get ready for another exciting triple threat match in VPW!! It will be one
fall to a finish in this exciting contest. First up is "Mr. Giggalo" Vinny
the Guido's top charge, Mr. Professional. Mr. Professional is one angry
individual and likes to make his opponents pay. When Professional made his
debut, he brutalized JMS. Then back in June, he took on Johnny Suburban.
Even though he was defeated, Professional took Suburban to the limit. Now
Vinny the Guido has been telling everyone that Mr. Professional's path to
glory begins on August 25th where he will defeat not one, but two other
individuals. The next participant in this match is Nick Noshus. Noshus was
successful in his VPW debut back in June and is looking to continue his
winning ways. The VPW fans have no love lost for Noshus, as he berated them
following his match. On the otherhand, the final participant in this match
has always been a VPW fan-favorite, Chopsaw! After a brief absence, Chopsaw
is set to make his return to action on August 25th. Time will tell if
Chopsaw still has the fire inside of him that everyone is used to or if his
time away will hinder his ability. Make sure to check out this wild
encounter!!
Other VPW News:
The famous, or infamous, Zombie of ECW will be making a special visit to the
VFW Hall in Centereach. VPW officials received a strange message on the
office answering machine. Several people listened to it, but nobody could
make heads or tails about what was going on. A special investigator was
called in and eventually the message was deciphered to the following, "I am
the ECW Zombie. I will be coming to VPW. All shall beware." It looks like
VPW may need to call a certain group of paranormal investigators.

On October 12, 2007, VPW will be having a tournament to crown the first ever
VPW Champion. Details on this tournament will be announced shortly.

Jason Static, who has been injured for the bulk of 2007, is gearing up for
his in-ring return. Static told VPW the following when he was asked about
his status, "Listen, if I feel like giving those no good Long Island fans a
match that involves the best body in the business, then I will. If I just
feel like accompanying my guys to the ring, then that's all you're going to
get." As a result, VPW will not be scheduling an opponent for Jason Static.
If a match does end up occurring, VPW will find an opponent.

Due to Kevin Matthews brutal attack on Don Tony back in June where he
cracked Don Tony in the head with a glass plate, coupled with his overall
all behavior throughout the night, VPW has decided to indefinitely suspend
Kevin Matthews. Originally, Grim Reefer was scheduled to take on Kevin
Matthews in a rematch, but that will not happen at this time. Grim Reefer
will still be in action on August 25, but his opponent has not yet been
determined.

VPW will begin to run events more frequently. The following dates are the
remaining schedule for this calendar year. Dates have also been scheduled
for 2008. All events will be held at the VFW Hall in Centereach.

NEWS STORIES COMING OUT OF AUGUST 5’s CAPW NIGHT OF LEGENDS

BANE FINALLY CAPTURES THE BIG ONE
It was a wild and physical brawl involving blood and barbed wire, but the man who once unified the CAPW Heavyweight & Television titles, is once again the leader of the CAPW pack. Bane bested ECW Original The Blue Meanie to re-claim CAPW singles gold and finally bring closure to a journey Bane had been on since the start of the calendar year. However, Bane’s celebration was short-lived, as his past caught up with him very quickly. Ray Rowe, a CAPW Tag Team Championship partner of Bane over one year ago, returned to CAPW on this night and made a major statement, suplexing the 300+ pound Bane overhead. Rowe clearly resents Bane’s singles success since the disbanding of The Suplex Machines, but what could possibly happen if these two behemoths ever meet face-to-face one-on-one?

GARGANO & PROHIBITION VICTORIOUS, EARN TAG TITLE SHOT
Johnny Gargano spent weeks proclaiming his 2-1 win over Alex Shelley in their Best of Three series meant that not only was Johnny the better man, but that the TNA superstar was not even in his league. After refusing a proposed singles rematch, he agreed to a tag team encounter after a member of Shelley’s Paparazzi cost Gargano an important victory last June. August 5 was the culmination of this year-long competitive-turned-personal rivalry when Gargano and partner Josh Prohibiton bested the Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin, with a sick spike-Drunken Driver for the three-count.

As a result of the victory, Gargano & Prohibition have earned an opportunity at the best tag team in Ohio today: Christian Faith & Vincent Nothing, Faith in Nothing, fresh off a victory over Tracy Smothers & Chris Hamrick at Night of Legends. FIN continue to up their level of competition, and continue to come out on top each and every time. What’s going to happen when two dominant tag team with a ton of momentum collide with CAPW Tag Title gold at stake? That match takes place at CAPW’s NEXT live event at a VERY special day and time: Saturday night, October 6 with a special 7:30 pm start time.

GREGORY IRON INJURED
Our thoughts go out to Gregory Iron, who suffered a severe concussion as part of the “King of Cleveland” Gauntlet Battle Royal on August 5. Iron spent the next several days hospitalized, and is now resting comfortably at home. Preliminary reports have Iron scheduled to return to ring action within the next couple of months.

Donald Brower sent this in:

The fastest growing wrestling promotion in the southeast invades the National Guard Armory in Wilmington, NC when the UPWA presents August Assault 2007. The fallout from the highly successful Summer Showdown 2007 has shaken the UPWA to its core. There are New UPWA Tag Team Champions as D.R.S. Inc (LA Tank/ Mike Devine) won the belts. The champs have no time to rest as Donald Brower has ordered they defend the belts on the show. The Monster known as Pitt has demanded a match against anyone on the UPWA roster and youngster Sabertooth has accepted the challenge. While Carnage has not been cleared by UPWA doctors following his assault on the June show, he will still have an impact on the show. He has enlisted old friend and WWWF Legend IVAN KOLOFF to face Mean Marc Ash in a Russian Chain Match. last show. The non-stop action is headlined by a Double Main Event. In the First Main Event, Sons of the New South Members Bam the Destroyer and Billy Holiday face the team of D.B.E. Members Andrew Anderson and Pete Nixon. In the other Main Event, UPWA Heavyweight Champion Playboy Marcus Shields will face off with former champion Sexton Tyler. Tyler never lost the belt as he was stripped by Donald Brower after failing to appear at a title defense under suspicious circumstances. Also appearing; Dave Dawson, James Hunter, Darkness, Beast, Eric Evans and the other stars of the UPWA! Tickets for this event are available at www.theupwa.com or at the door. Do not miss this exciting night of professional wrestling action.
